10th annual Parade of Homes kicks off September 11th

The Niagara County Builders Association, host of New York State's first home show featuring all ENERGY STAR® homes, presents their tenth annual Parade of Homes. From Sept. 11 through Sept. 26, the on-site show will be open Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m.

Seven of Niagara County's finest home builders will open ten of their custom built homes in Lockport, Lewiston, and Wheatfield. Participating builders are Barden Homes, David Homes, Eddy & Lewin Homes, Glenwood Builders, Patrick Homes of WNY, Ryan Homes, and Talarico Bros. Building Corp.

These ten homes have each earned the ENERGY STAR, guaranteeing that they are built to be at least 30% more energy-efficient than conventionally built homes. In addition, all of the homes in the Parade of Homes feature state-of-the-art Natural Gas appliances, as well as the latest in building, decorating, and design innovations.

All those who attend this free show may enter a drawing for one of five nights on the town. These prize packages include fine dining certificates and either theater or sporting event tickets. Parade of Homes attendees can also win gas grills donated by National Fuel. There will be entry blanks at each house, so the more houses you visit, the greater your chance to win.

Maps of the house locations and Parade of Homes magazines containing house photos, descriptions, and other useful information are available before the show at any of the six 84 Lumber locations in Western New York. For more information, please call 283-0557.

Parade of Homes home show

The Niagara County Builders Association's on-site home show, the Parade of Homes, is back and better than ever. Following last year’s successful show, seven of Niagara County's finest builders combine talent and experience to showcase ten of their custom homes in the towns of Wheatfield, Lewiston, and Lockport. The show is free to the public, allowing visitors to sample several upscale neighborhoods in various picturesque settings throughout Niagara County.

Participating builders are Barden Homes, David Homes, Eddy & Lewin Homes, Glenwood Builders, Patrick Homes of WNY, Ryan Homes, and Talarico Brothers Building Corporation. Major sponsors of the Parade of Homes 2004 are Countrywide Home Loans, 84 Lumber, National Fuel, NYSERDA/ENERGY STAR®, and the NCBA.

All of the homes in this year's show have earned the ENERGY STAR, which guarantees that they feature improved insulation, ventilation, heating, cooling, and appliances. Homes that have earned the ENERGY STAR are 30% more energy efficient than conventionally built new homes and offer prospective home buyers more for their money.

The tenth annual Parade of Homes is open to the public on three big weekends: Sept. 11th-12th, 18th-19th, and 25th-26th. The homes are open from noon to 5 p.m. each day of the show. With no admission charges, attendees are free to view the homes at their leisure, with no need to rush through all the homes in one day or even one weekend.

Parade of Homes magazines packed full of useful information will be available at various sites before the show starts and at every house during the show. These high-quality magazines contain a map of all of the home locations, full color photos and descriptions of each show home, floor plans, profiles of all seven builders, and lots of information and ideas for homeowners and prospective home buyers.

All who attend the Parade of Homes will have a chance to win great prizes, including gas grills courtesy of National Fuel and other door prizes donated by the Buffalo News. Look for the handy registration blanks and deposit boxes at each house; the more homes you visit, the more chances you have to be a winner. If you are in the market to buy or build a new home, or if you just need some fresh ideas for decorating or remodeling your own home, the Parade of Homes 2004 is the home show to see.
