Niagara County Builders plan 11th annual
Parade of Homes home show

by Rustie Dimitriadis

Plans are underway for the Niagara County Builders Association’s annual Parade of Homes multiple-site home show, set to open in coming weeks. Now entering its 11th year, Western New York’s most affordable home show will showcase nine custom homes built by five of Niagara County's most talented and experienced builders. The show is free to the public, allowing visitors to sample several picturesque neighborhoods in the towns of Wheatfield and Lockport in Niagara County.

Participating builders are David Homes, GreenTree Builders (featuring Barden Homes), Prestige Designs, Rosal Construction, and Ryan Homes. Major sponsors of Niagara County’s Parade of Homes include Countrywide Home Loans, 84 Lumber, Kitchen World, National Fuel, NYSERDA/ENERGY STAR®, and the NCBA.

The houses featured in the Parade of Homes 2005, spotlighted each week in Niagara Frontier Publications, boast the latest in decorating and design ideas. Must-see amenities include luxurious master suites, glamour baths, walk-in closets, cathedral ceilings, hardwood floors, and much more. In addition, all five builders in this year's show are proud to build ENERGY STAR Labeled Homes. These homes are inspected and tested to use 30% less energy than conventionally-built homes, providing greater value, comfort, health, safety, and durability. Owners of ENERGY STAR Labeled Homes will have more home for less money, and enjoy the benefits and savings for a lifetime.

The annual Parade of Homes is open to the public on three weekends: Sept. 17-18, 24-25, and Oct. 1-2. The homes are open for viewing from noon to 5 p.m. each day of the show. With no admission or parking charges, visitors are welcome to tour the homes at their own pace, whether all in one day or throughout the three weekends of the show.

Before the show begins, Parade of Homes magazines packed full of useful information will be available at Countrywide Home Loans (5457 Sheridan Drive in Williamsville), Kitchen World (5879 Transit Rd., Lockport), National Fuel (6363 Main St., Williamsville), the NCBA office (2728 Niagara Falls Blvd., Wheatfield), and at every 84 Lumber location in Western New York. The magazines will also be available during the show at each model home. These high-quality magazines will contain a map of all of the home locations, full color interior and exterior photos and descriptions of each home, floor plans, profiles of all five builders, and plenty of information and ideas for homeowners and prospective homebuyers.

If you are in the market to buy or build a new home, or if you just need some fresh ideas for decorating or remodeling your own home, the Parade of Homes 2005 is a must-see.
