Niagara County Builders present awards, hold elections
To express their appreciation, Jim Kuryak, president of the Niagara County Builders Association, and Stan Swogier, NCBA vice president, presented NCBA field notebooks and customized cards to guest speakers Howard Zubin, president of the New York State Builders Association, and Philip LaRocque, NYSBA executive vice president, at the NCBA's monthly meeting on Nov. 12. Zubin, of Northeastern Appraisal Associates, and LaRocque, visiting from Albany, brought the local builders up to date on the latest news and developments affecting the building industry and on everything the state association has done on their behalf. Missing from photo is Second Vice President/Membership Chairman Jeff Robinson, who also led the association in bringing in new members. The NCBA's monthly meeting was also their election meeting. Candidates elected to the executive board are: President Stan Swogier III of Swogier Construction Inc.; First Vice President Larry Quigliano of L.J. Quigliano II Inc.; Second Vice President Bob Minkiewicz of 84 Lumber Co.; Secretary Catherine Wolf of National Fuel; Treasurer John Ennis of William Schutt and Associates; National Director William Burg of Alside Supply Center, and State Director Skip Mazenauer of Niagara Frontier Publications. Candidates elected for a one-year term on the board are: Carl Capolupo of United Rentals and Brian Tomeny of B&L Wholesale Supply, Inc.; those elected for two years include: Gary DiMatteo of Rosal Construction, Doug Marcinski of Ryan Homes, Jim Kuryak of Niagara National Insurance, and Sil Barone of Sil Barone Homes. Officers and board members for 2004 will be sworn in at the NCBA holiday party in December. |
